Calm The Storm

Thank you for joining me. This is one of my favorite songs. My journey has been an incredibly difficult one. I have struggled with just about everything that you could imagine. I have felt myself completely alone and adrift. I have know what it feels like to be drowning in despair and hopeless. I have also felt the firm and saving hand of a loving God whom reaches out to pull us out of the storms. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the sheer force of the wind and waves in your life, cry out to Jesus and he will save you. I am not talking in religious hyperbole, God has literally saved my life and my marriage and given me both hope and a bright future. You are not alone and God is the calm in the storm that you seek.

Calm The Storm
Written by John Ivey 4/9/2011
Verse 1:
Left my home years ago
In search of greener lands
All my plans for happiness
Slip right through my hands

Tempest tossed adrift for days
No harbor to be found
Lost at sea I call your name
Save me before I drown

Chorus:
You calm the storm
When the waves crash over me
You lift me up
Set me on solid ground
You light my way
When the Darkness is all around me
You’ll bring me home
You calm the storm

Verse 2:
Sinking ship can’t stop the flow
Water on the rise
Salty streams join the sea
Flowing from my eyes

As I slip beneath the waves
My will to fight undone
My eyes grow bright as they reflect
The coming of the Son.

Chorus:
You calm the storm
When the waves crash over me
You lift me up
Set me on solid ground
You light my way
When the Darkness is all around me
You’ll bring me home
You calm the storm

Bridge:
When my fears wash over me
You are there

Verse 3:
Sitting still I hear your voice
Calling out my name
Never thought I live to see
The passing of the rain

Chorus:
You calm the storm
When the waves crash over me
You lift me up
Set me on solid ground
You light my way
When the Darkness is all around me
You’ll bring me home
You calm the storm
